Dear co-Châtelains,

We hope you are well.

It is with great pleasure that we tell you a story about La Mothe Chandeniers and its co-châtelains from all over the world.

La Mothe Chandeniers is a unique encounter between a living work of art and its some.

45,000 artists who, together, make it a little more beautiful every day.

We have before us a giant canvas, a magical field of expression, where each artist brings his or her own touch of colour.

From blue to red, from green to yellow, from golden to raw, as many touches of colour as there are souls representing the diversity of our community.

This mix of colours is our diversity, and our complexity too. What an adventure it has been to unite all our singularities around the same objective: to magnify our Mothe Chandeniers.

Our first 2 years of reflection and concrete action were 100% dedicated to the programme to save the château, with extraordinary work and 1 million euros invested in this 1st phase. This first massive investment, which we were able to make together, enabled us to work on :

• The porch of the clock tower
• The clock tower
• The main staircase
• The turret of the main staircase
• Masonry work
• The zincwork
• The historic orangery
• And so much more

Over the next 2 years, we focused our efforts on our economic and tourism model, with major investments in the purchase of the outbuildings, the creation of the largest events space in northern Vienne and the imminent arrival of our 4 ecolodges, the starting point for our accommodation offering. This stage, which is just as important as the 1st, lays the foundations for a sustainable business model, as it will enable us to generate crucial revenue over the long term.

Thanks to these investments, we are not dependent on anyone and can therefore guarantee the sustainability of the LMC project. With the arrival of the ecolodges, not only will 100% of our costs be amortised, but we also have the prospect of generating profits in the years to come, which can be ploughed back into our various restoration, investment and recruitment programmes.

These crucial investments in the development of our tourism offering will enable us to exceed €300,000 in sales this year. That's enough to turn the corner and break even for the year. Too little to contemplate resuming work on our marvel.

The strength of La Mothe Chandeniers lies in our numbers. There are nearly 45,000 of us who hold the future of La Mothe Chandeniers in our hands.

La Mothe Chandeniers is our common home and together we have the power to make it a better place.

We know that it is not possible to mobilise 100% of our large community. That's why we're constantly thinking about the resources we'll need to make progress on the huge programme of work required by our Mothe Chandeniers. Perhaps instead of the initial €50, we could have imagined a subscription for €2 a month? The price of a coffee, as Carsten, our architect, said at the General Meeting. That would have enabled us to raise almost twice as much 🙂 ... Something to think about.

We are now just 5 million short (of the 6 million needed) of the perfect crystallisation of our Mothe Chandeniers and the creation of the floating footbridges that will allow us to visit the castle in its entirety by rising from the ground to the sky. A dream come true!

Now, if we want to get the "works machine" up and running again, it will only be able to do so fully thanks to all of us. As new custodians, we have this responsibility, we have this power.

At the AGM, our architect, Carsten Hanssen, gave us some ideas. The main idea is to earmark funds for the restoration programme alone, whether through a micro-subscription, a new fund-raising operation dedicated exclusively to the work, or the sale of merchandising. The choice is ours.

While the subscription idea is great and still needs a bit of thought and work, another idea has been germinating for over 5 years.

What if our co-Châtelains, after putting together a whole host of ideas and events, had had an epiphany? A new, innovative idea that La Mothe Chandeniers is crazy about?

Here we present the fruit of 5 years of community life, work, projects and sharing ideas. What could be more beautiful when the talents of our community are expressed?

We present you : VESTIGE !

An idea that will perhaps see the light of day.

An idea that might enable us to resume work on the castle.

It's up to all of us to decide.

When we, co-châtelains from the 4 corners of the world, took possession of La Mothe in 2018, we joined forces to resurrect one of the most enchanting châteaux in the world. Over the course of the work, the building sites and the celebrations, thousands of historic remains have been rediscovered, enhanced and preserved.

Today, we'd like to invite you to bring one of these rediscovered historical remains into your home. A physical piece of your Mothe Chandeniers at home.

Introducing VESTIGE! The fusion of past, present and future.

VESTIGE is the transformation of historic slate from the Château de Mothe Chandeniers estate into a unique, framed, numbered and signed work of art.

• Each piece will have a different shape.

• Each piece will be available in a small range of colours, including raw, of course.

• Each piece will be framed, numbered and signed.

In short, each piece will be unique.

VESTIGE is a unique, historic work of art that everyone can afford, with 100% of the profits going directly, and solely, to the restoration programme.

Castle, chapel, outbuilding? Once again, WE, the co-Châtelains, will decide on the basis of the amount available and the scenarios proposed by our architect and put to the vote.
